How to Be a Rock Star (Intro to Guitar)
This class introduced students to playing the guitar.
Ages: 9-15
Previous Experience Required: None (this class is for beginners)
Concepts Taught: Guitar basics (anatomy, how to hold a guitar, basic technique, etc), how to play individual notes, basic chords, rhythm and how to play in time, how to read TAB, custom song of students’ choosing
In this class, students will learn how to play the guitar! They’ll go from having no former knowledge of the instrument to being able to play a few simple songs, including a song of their own choosing.
In each meeting, we’ll cover a few basic concepts, then spend the majority of class time working toward learning a new song that puts them into practice. The teacher will check in with each student as we go, making sure that they are using the right technique and playing correctly. Each song will be slightly harder and more epic than the last! In our last class meeting, each student will get to pick their own song (a pop song, a song from a video game, or whatever they want) and the teacher will teach it to them!
Each student is guaranteed individual attention and instruction.
